Full Frontal Madonna for Sale

Christie’s auction house says a 30-year-old nude photo of Madonna, which earned her a $25 modeling fee, is expected to sell for at least $10,000. The full frontal image was taken by Lee Friedlander and appeared in Playboy in 1985.
Madonna was a 20-year-old dancer trying to make ends meet when she answered Friedlander’s newspaper ad seeking a nude model in 1979. Six photos from the shoot were sold to Playboy and the one up for auction Feb. 12 might just be the most explicit one.
Another photo of Madonna, by Helmut Newton, is also in the auction. In that shot, she is wearing lingerie.

Playboy’s Labia Criteria

The fact that Playboy magazine hardly shows models with protruding labia minora has caused women to believe that large labia are considered unattractive. Hey, if it’s not in Playboy then it must be because men don’t like it, right?
Besides having great articles, Playboy is a booby magazine, not a porn magazine. It has hardly any pictures that show naked vulvas. Instead, it wants to tease and tickle your senses by displaying female curves and by being suggestive about women’s genital areas.
They do it because showing labia minora that extend beyond the outer lips is considered too sexually explicit, in other words too sexy!

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s new galpal Dasha Astafieva made heads turn when she arrived in a see-through dress at the red carpet for Playboy’s 55 anniversary.
The Ukranian-born Playmate was seen wearing just a thong underneath her dress, which she quickly got rid off, flashing her bottom to the thrilled paparazzi.
It’s unclear whether Astafieva is officially a new love interest for Hef but the pair looked cozy, posing together after the thong-dropping episode.

A nude model resembling the Virgin Mary on the cover of the Mexican edition of Playboy magazine, published only days before a major Mexican festival dedicated to the mother of Jesus, prompted the company’s U.S. headquarters on Friday to apologize.
Stunning model Maria Florencia Onori poses in the December issue of Mexican edition Playboy in nothing but angelic white cloth with a stained-glass window behind her.
The Spanish headline translates ‘We adore you, Mary’.

Christie Hefner Resigning From Playboy

CHICAGO, Illinois – Christie Hefner today announced that she intends to step down as Playboy Enterprises, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. She will stay on as CEO until January 31, 2009, and will remain as a member of the board until a new CEO joins the company. In the course of her tenure, Christie has overseen Playboy’s transition from a domestic magazine publisher to a global lifestyle and multi-media company. She directed the company’s entry into TV, online and mobile and helped each of those businesses reach profitability.
“Playboy Enterprises Inc. has literally and figuratively been my life and career for more than 30 years,” Hefner said. “Last month marked my 20th anniversary as CEO; just as this country is embracing change in the form of new leadership, I have decided that now is the time to make changes in my own life as well.”
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner said: “I asked Christie to step up as president when the company faced serious financial difficulties more than two decades ago. She has worked tirelessly to expand the company’s franchise, and, as a result of her efforts, the company today has more consumers and fans than at any time in our history.”
