‘Leave It to Beaver’ at the Louvre?

Actor Tony Dow, who played Wally Cleaver on “Leave It to Beaver,” recently exhibited his sculpture “Unarmed Warrior” at the Louvre. The piece may not be joining the permanent collection, but the exhibition is nothing to sneeze at.
How did this sitcom star make it into the legendary Paris museum? Well, Dow parlayed his early stardom into a successful career behind the camera. After the sitcom ended in 1963, Dow worked as a director and visual effects supervisor for shows such as “Babylon 5” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.”
Meanwhile, he pursued painting and sculpting and eventually found representation with a California art gallery. They submitted “Unarmed Warrior,” and the Louvre accepted it.
