Homeland Security : Unreal

The Department of Homeland Security may bring to mind bright interrogation lights rather than the lights of Hollywood. But Tuesday night, ABC debuts a new reality show that takes viewers behind the scenes as border guards, Secret Service agents and patrol officers protect the nation.
The show, called Homeland Security USA has the look of a documentary, but its producers stay clear of politics and deliver a fast-paced show that’s more COPS than Frontline.

TSA 2008 Roundup

The TSA has made quite a name for itself when it comes to making stupid decisions. Whether it is forcing a mom to drink her own breast milk, or claiming a thin laptop could be a dangerous weapon, when the TSA screws up, they tend to screw up quite badly.
HERE are some of the best TSA screwups in 2008.

Loomis Armored Car VIOLATES ADA…

In what seems to be a regular feature here, we found yet another Armored Car company (instead of the USUAL – DUNHAM) violating the American’s with Disabilities Act.
This post is even better than our previous posts. As we were leaving the bank, a Loomis Guard ran up behind us demanding we hand over our camera (iPhone), telling us we could not take pictures of their truck. We explained how they were in violation of the ADA and their own truck has a sign on it asking “how’s my driving?”, including a telephone number to call…presumably to issue complaints.
Mr. ‘wanna be a cop’ demanded I turn over the phone saying he was going to call the police; we suggested he do just that as we had done nothing wrong, he didn’t like that. Mr. 5’5″ was getting red in the face when I told him to turn around and look at his parking job…he said he could park where ever he wanted, whereas I replied, “…yes you can, EXCEPT WHERE YOU ARE PARKED.” Then I tossed him a bone… “How would you like it if I deleted the picture?” “YES,” he stated in his biggest adult sounding VOICE…
As I emailed the picture to myself (see above), I showed him the phone, “…see, it’s all gone now…”
Off he strutted, hopping into the booster seat of his BIG TRUCK. I, of course, called and reported the situation…
When will they ever learn? Oh wait, he probably got turned down for his dream job with the TSA at the airport…
